Shimmer

Shimmer, is my first personal painting outside of school. I have a deep love for trees and felt compelled to paint one as my first work of art as an independent artist. When I first started this painting, I had no idea how to use acrylic but most importantly, I had no idea who I was as an artist, what I liked, nor why I loved to paint. Basically having no idea as to what I was doing even with some training from school. I decided it would be best that this tree be painted in layers. Little did I know it would take layers, upon layers, upon layers of different colors and themes until I felt just right. On the other hand, this tedious layering is how I discovered how I like to lay my under paintings in my works. So everything happens for a reason! This painting is really about finding your voice, and taking a leap of faith.
